Match the proportions
Our 8×10 inch prints use a 4:5 shape. The 12×16 and 18×24 inch options use 3:4. A square image will need different placement, extra space, or a crop. Check which approach preserves the composition.
Prepare AI art for printing with Print My Image
An AI image can look convincing in a chat window and still need attention before printing. Start with the original file, inspect the artwork closely, and choose a print size that suits its detail. These checks help you turn a ChatGPT image into a poster, framed print, or another product with fewer surprises.
The plugin is coming soon. You can already upload a saved ChatGPT image in our editor.

A practical guide
Use a PNG or JPG file in the Print My Image editor. The pixel dimensions tell you how much source detail is available; the physical print size determines how widely those pixels must be spread. Changing a DPI label alone does not add pixels or improve the image.
For example, a 2400×3000 pixel image placed across a full 8×10 inch print has 300 pixels per inch. Across a 16×20 inch print, the same file has 150 pixels per inch. These examples explain the relationship; they are not a guarantee of sharpness or a list of our available sizes.
A few starting points
Our 8×10 inch prints use a 4:5 shape. The 12×16 and 18×24 inch options use 3:4. A square image will need different placement, extra space, or a crop. Check which approach preserves the composition.
Look at faces, hands, repeated patterns, edges, and lettering in the saved file. Correct visible mistakes before ordering; printing at a larger size makes them easier to notice.
A full rectangular scene can work well on paper. For a standalone T-shirt illustration, use real image transparency if you want the fabric to show around the subject. A pictured checkerboard is not transparency.
Try this in ChatGPT
Copy this prompt into ChatGPT and change the subject, colours, or style to suit your idea.
Create a portrait botanical artwork in a 4:5 composition: a single olive branch with clear leaf shapes on a warm ivory background. Keep the branch away from the edges, use clean detail, and avoid tiny decorative marks. Generate only the flat artwork, with no text, frame, wall, or mockup.
Refine the image until you are happy with it. Save the original image file, then upload it to the editor. You need the rights to any artwork you submit.
How it works
Describe the artwork you want, generate the image, and refine the details.
Upload the saved image to our editor. Choose your product options and adjust the size and position.
Check the preview and the product and shipping costs before paying. Your order is printed after payment.
When the ChatGPT plugin launches, you will also be able to ask Print My Image to put your image on a product from your conversation.
Before you print
It depends on the saved image's pixel dimensions, the size of the artwork on the product, and the detail in the design. Inspect the original file and review the placement. There is no single print size that suits every generated image.
Changing only the DPI metadata does not create extra image detail. At a given physical size, the number of source pixels matters. Resizing with an upscaler can add pixels, but its interpretation may not reproduce detail that was absent from the source.
Either format is accepted by the website editor. Use PNG for an image with a transparent background. For an opaque illustration or photograph, upload the original PNG or a high-quality JPG rather than a screenshot.
Do not rely on printing or upscaling to correct text. Fix the lettering in the image before uploading and check the final design carefully before checkout.
Make it in ChatGPT, then turn it into something you can hold. Upload a saved image now, or use the plugin when it launches.
